I call weave to the whole thing, especially idiots pretending to be a seal on tv etc.
IF anyone has felt the effects of 'hypnotism' it's probably CBT, which is a genuine method of changing thought patterns.

Derren Brown did that stunt on TV a few years ago where he hypnotised the viewers.
The idea was to fully concentrate on the TV for a while and during that time subliminal pictures came up on the TV.
I was a sceptic but he stuck me to my chair in my living room through the TV. I would not trust that man as far as I can throw him. He could drain your account, fuck your missus and get you clapping like a fucking seal in approval...because he can do it.

Years ago I went to a hypnotist who claimed she could stop me from smoking, it cost loads of notes and never worked so I went cold turkey a year or so later and gave up the cigs when I wanted to.

I know Paul McKenna quite well and he insisted on hypnotising me at 50 mph on the embankment as I ran him to his office on my motorbike.
It's a long story and I won't go into it now but I kept on saying 'I'm a cynical cunt Paul and although you're trying to help me and I appreciate it you've got zero chance of getting me to comply;.
He took me back to his place in Kensington, asked me to picture a few things and asked me how I felt after and all I could say was 'slightly embarrassed as I'd really like this to work but it just hasn't'.
I felt really bad because he genuinely purely wanted to help me think more positively and he was doing it completely for free.
I left his house saying 'mate, I am touched that you gave me so much of your time and that in itself has been a great help. Sorry I'm such a negative dick'. He just laughed and said 'see you in a few days. Let me know how you feel then'.
He lives in a really lovely Mews behind Kensington High St and as I got back on my bike it was October and a bit misty, a bit like today's weather in fact. I thought 'I never noticed how beautiful this street was before with its stables and garages built into these 19th century houses'. It was like everything was a bit more colourful.
I have to emphasise that I didn't for one moment think I'd been hypnotised and felt most of the evening squirming in my seat and actually feeling a bit sorry for him as I was such a tough room.
The upshot of all this is that if I had to pick a day my life pivoted around it would be that day. Over the weeks and months that followed somehow (and I still don't know exactly how he did it) he rewired my brain from negative to positive. In one night I went from being a pessimist to an optimist and I'm a fuck sight happier now than in all the years before he somehow zapped me.
It was literally life-changing.

I learned to Hypnotize in my teens. Its not that difficult, you just have to occupy the conscious mind and speak directly to the unconscious.
Used to do it to myself and my friends. It was also really useful when I was in hospital and in pain in 2013.

I've battled addiction of one sort of addiction one way or another since my teens baring needles.
There is no way on gods earth a "hypnotist " would get anywhere near my mindset.
